Tulsa Chiropractor And Physical Therapy as Part of a Complete Chiropractic Care Plan

Our accomplished Tulsa Chiropractor and their physical therapy staff provides high-quality therapy that complements chiropractor Dr. Lawrence’s skilled chiropractic care. Together, these two disciplines help our patients with pain management, increased strength, range of physical therapymotion and overall wellbeing. Our biggest goal is to help patients who suffer from back pain, neck pain, knee pain, shoulder pain, whiplash or any other painful injury to get back to moving and living normally and happily.

Physical Therapy in Tulsa Strengthens Previously Weak Areas

Our physical therapy patients work closely with our chiropractor to help people strengthen areas that were previously weak in order to bolster the health of their spines. Chiropractic spinal adjustments last longer as the supporting muscles around the spine are strengthened so that the spine maintains its correct position. Naturally, many of the people who come to us for the first time have been in painful accidents and suffer from whiplash, back pain, neck pain, knee pain, etc. But, we can even help non-injured patients work towards improved health, wellness and strength.

Our physical therapy exercises are designed to accomplish our patients’ pain management, strengthening and range-of-motion goals. We supervise and assist each patient in the correct performance of these exercises adapted to their personal ability but designed to challenge and strengthen them as well. After we have instructed and observed the patient as they learn their exercises, we can then prescribe the following sets of exercises for them to do at home so they can continue their healing and strengthening process:

Cervical/Thoracic Exercises—We have three exercise regimens that are specifically designed to strengthen, stretch and stabilize the muscles supporting the vertebrae of the neck (cervical spine) and the thoracic area of the spine (upper back). The exercise, stretching and protocol groups build on each other and help our patients with neck pain management.

Lumbar Exercises—We have developed four different regimens created to work on the lumbar region of the spine (lower back) as well. The Lumbar Flexion set, the Lumbar Flexion Protocol set (with three phases that build upon each other), the Lumbar Stabilization set and the Lumbar Extension set (also with three phases) all support the flexibility, strength and stability of the lower back. These exercises continue the chiropractic work of spinal adjustment to keep the spine in its healthy position as well as to prevent future lower back injury injury.

We also train our patients on shoulder and knee exercises if their injuries or conditions require it.

It is important to note, however, that a person does not need to be in pain or rehabilitation to do these exercises. They are as important for overall wellness and injury prevention as they are for recovery from an injury. Therefore, we wholeheartedly invite everyone interested in overall strengthening to call us for an appointment so we can demonstrate how these exercises can help!
